Description

Fantastic and very spacious apartment in the lively and trendy Monti area. Monti is the most "hip" neighborhood in Rome, with young people enjoying restaurants, cafes and the Roman Dolcevita In Piazza Madonna dei Monti, which is the heart of the area. Incredibly close to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum (as well as many other beautiful monuments and plazas) this flat is the perfect choice for two couples, a large group of friends or a family wishing to visit Rome on a budget (a baby cot is available upon request) . The apartment has two very big bedrooms (one equipped with a king size bed, the other one with two twin beds that form a queen size and an extra twin bed). Each bedroom has its own bathroom en-suite and the living room is bright and cozy thanks to the two large windows, white wooden ceilings and elegant wooden floor. Amongst the various amenities, the flat is provided with 32? TV, free internet wireless 24/7 and air conditioning (outlets are one inside the room and the other one in the living room but cools perfectly the master bedroom). Next to the living room, there is a tiny dining room, with a kitchen. The vintage wallpaper representing teacups and teapots gives a trendy touch to the room. The fully equipped kitchen is provided with gas stove, kettle, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The washing machine is conveniently located in separate little room in the master bedroom. The green bathroom has a shower, while the biggest bathroom of the flat (in the other bedroom has a fantastic and very relaxing Jacuzzi bathtub. We really welcome your inquiries and questions! The Roman Tourism Tax (3.50€ per night per person) is NOT included in the total and has to be paid in cash upon arrival. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment and check in is at 2 pm and check out is at 10 am. Late check in (after 8 pm) is 30€. Late check in (after midnight) is 50€

Everything was really great, we truly enjoyed our stay. Amazing location!!!

written by Anna Matussek on Airbnb on Friday, 11 November 2016

The flat is very lovely and in an ideal central location. Arrival was easy. Only trouble we had was that there was an issue with hot water the first morning. Andrea had it sorted out though and was apologetic so that worked out fine in the end. We had a lovely time and I would definitely stay here again!

It was marvellous to discover this atmospheric area of Rome so near to the spectacular Colesseum. Luca who was sent to greet us was fantastically welcoming, informative and helpful and Andrea had left a bottle of bubbly which started our stay in style! The apartment was extremely comfortable and contained all we needed and would happily choose to stay there again.

If you are looking for a place in Roma, I highly recommend Andrea's place. Excellent communication to arrange a taxi from the airport to the place was very helpful. The location of the house is less than 10 min walk to Colosseum, ATM, Metro station, Markets, Restaurants and etc. It's also very spacious house with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.

My mother and I had an amazing stay at Andrea's fabulous place in the heart of Monti. We immersed ourselves in this cool area that is at arm's length from the centre of Rome yet has its own distinct vibe, discovering new places on the way. Andrea was super helpful, friendly and responsive, and his charmingly unique apartment heightened our Roman experience - We highly recommend it! Grazie Mille Andrea, e ciao da Pina e Paul

First of all I just want to say Andrea was a great communicator. He was so easy to get a hold of with any question or concern and his reply was always prompt. We took the shuttle he provided from the airport and it made it so easy. The location was great in terms of getting around town. Very close to the Colosseum. He also has a list of recommended resraurants to eat at which make it convenient. Perfect stay for our family of 5. The alley was is a little off putting because some people hang out there but I never felt worrried. Overall good experience and I would recommend this place to friends.

In addition, Luca was very helpful with restaurants and provided a map for sites as well as personal recommendations for restaurants, etc.. The apartment was spacious and full of characte

Thanks. Everything was perfect. Perrine was excellent and really helped us out. Spent a lot of time with us to find out more about Roma and what to do while we were there. Thanks again.

Spacious, stylish place just off a busy street of bars/restaurants in Monti very close to metro, colosseum and forum. Well equipped. The alley in front of the building is a bit dark and run down, but the apartment itself is very nice. AC was a lifesaver as it was 41 degrees C when we were there.

The apartment was fantastic! It is located in the heart of the Monti - a very cool neighborhood - just a stone's throw from the Colloseum and other great sites. Andrea was extremely responsive and helpful. It looks exactly as it does in the phtos. i woukd definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. Very nicely kept, tasteful design and practical apartment for up to 5. The owner is very responsive and the key transfer is efficient and caring. Recommend it highly.

This listing was really great for our stay in Rome! The location is very good: it's not very tourist-y, but is just a quick 5 minute walk to the Coliseum. The apartment is tucked away into a little alley, which at first seems a bit dark, but it's just a few steps away from a small square, so safety wasn't a concern. The unit itself is very spacious, and is great for the 3 guests of ours. It was especially hot in July when we stayed, and the air conditioning worked well. The bedrooms worked well for us, as did the two bathrooms. The kitchen is also very charming. Not very large, but worked well for what we needed. Would definitely recommend!

We absolutely loved this apartment. So light and bright. Plenty of room for me, my husband and three young children. Walking distance to everything and totally adorable neighborhood. Got to know the owner of the cafe on the corner who was darling to us and our children. We'd start with fresh orange juice and crossiants every day and then head out on our adventures. I was a little spooked by the alley we arrived, but quickly realized it was very safe and there is an automatic sensor light that goes on. I felt very secure even walking alone there at night. Andrea was incredibly responsive. Provided us with recommendations for local restaurants and arranged for transport to and from airport. Modest but chic...and I felt like a real local which was what we had wanted this experience to be for us. Highly recommend.!

Lovely stay, great area, amazing apartment with all what you need for a comfortable holiday in Rome. The flat is big with a cool elegant style. Andrea is very polite and he provides you with all the details about the area and services. Great stay.

Very nice people and good organisation. The flat was clean, well decorated in a nice area. Thank you Andrea!

written by Brett Marino on Airbnb on Tuesday, 17 May 2016

We received a lovely welcome and overall we had a great stay in Rome. The flat is well located in Monti with easy access to transportation. The apartment is well decorated - just like the pictures! The only drawback to our stay was groups of men drinking and loitering around the front entrance of the building - which is down a dead-end alley. We alerted Andrea to this who was very responsive and offered to call the police. Although not a fault of the apartment itself it was unnerving more than anything.

written by Alex & Angela Lock on Airbnb on Wednesday, 11 May 2016

Lovely flat in a great location. It is literally just a few minutes from the Forum and lcose to many nice places to eat and drink. You can walk to all the main sites from the flat. Andrea was very helpful. He organised transport for us to and from the airport. He was very responsive when we discivered we needed a couple more towels too - they arrived within half an hour. As others have mentioned the alleyway outside the flat can be a little noisy but you'd expect that in the centre of any city.

written by Shirin Kheshti on Airbnb on Thursday, 05 May 2016

Andrea was a wonderful host! He was extremely accommodating and helped us with any questions. The apartment is in a great location. Short walking distance to all the sights. The only negative is the building is a bit run down and there are always people gathered outside of the building in the alley so it's loud at night. We also have a baby and could not fit our stroller through the entrance of the building as one of the doors wouldn't open. Other than that, the location and Andrea exceeded our expectations.

Andrea and also Nathalie were great hosts, even the transports to the airport were easily arranged, as were tickets to a football match to Lazio Roma. All in good manners, good english and with a quick respons time!!

written by Rob Singer on Airbnb on Saturday, 09 April 2016

The positives: 1. Andrea is one of the best hosts I have ever had on Airbnb. Excellent communication, took care of any issues that arose, and his partner gave us a great tour of the house and neighborhood. 5-star host. 2. The apartment is beautiful. Very spacious and, as a family of 4, we loved having the 2 bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and the entire apartment was definitely a "home in the city" for us. 3. The location was perfect--literally 2 blocks away from the Forum and the Coliseum, while still in a very residential neighborhood. We loved Monti; it is perfectly located for sightseeing, has great restaurants and bars, and has a feeling of being a true Roman neighborhood (definitely has tourists but we were easily able to find neighborhood restaurants, bars, etc.). Things to be aware of: 1. As many reviews state, the entry is in a pretty grimy alley (sort of an alley - more of a cul-de-sac). To be clear: we never felt concerned for our safety at all. We live in a city (San Francisco) and the entire neighborhood of Monti, including the alley in front of this apartment, feels safer than where we live (and we feel very safe in our neighborhood). People hang out in front of the building smoking, drinking, playing soccer, etc. Just be aware that there was constant smoking and yelling (which many times prevented us from opening the windows - thank goodness for the A/C!), broken beer bottles on the pavement outside. 2. The room on the inside part of the building (the one with the cars wallpaper) is very quiet; however, the rooms along the front of the building (the common rooms and the “master” bedroom) are right over the alley so there is considerable noise, including late at night (until at least 12/1AM most nights). If we had not had an infant in our room, it probably would have been OK (we used a white noise machine app on our phones which helped a lot) but it definitely created some issues with falling/staying asleep. Honestly, it is a wonderful apartment, in a great (close to perfect) part of Roma, with an amazing host. If you are OK with the noise and some other challenges with the alley, then you should look no further than this place.

written by Mary Buchanan on Airbnb on Wednesday, 06 April 2016

The apartment is in a great location. Communication was very good. Andrea arranged an airport pick up for 50 euros. Worked very well because the street is hard to find; it's more like an alley. The apartment looks just like the Airbnb photos. It's very shabby chic charming. As others have said the outside of the building is very unattractive and seems to be a gathering place for kids drinking at night, so a little noisy. I would stay there again.

Had a good three day stay in Rome. Flat is well located in Ancient Rome with easy access to the sights, food etc. Well decorated with all the basic requirements. The only thing holding back the rating from 5 stars is that the entrance to the building is in a dark dead end which was the hangout of lots of men drinking on the street. It wasn't dangerous but a little unnerving when coming home late at night with kids surrounding by several drunk men. If it was two adults it wouldn't had bothered me, but I was more cautious with my kiddos. Would still stay there again.

Very cosy and comfortable appartment in the very heart of ancient Rome. Everything was aus described in the ad. It was less than 5 minutes foodwalk to Colosseum and all the other ancient buildings. There were lots of Restaurants and cafes around the appartment. Andrea was a very friendly and responsive host. He evan arranged our Airport pick-up for a very reasonable price. He was always open for and kind of question and a minor in the kitchen was fixed immediately. We also enjoyed a very warm welcome by Alessia who showed us the appartment a all amenities and explained the surroundings, things to do and see. All in all wie enjoyed our stay in Andreas appartment very much and Highlight recommend a stay there.

Andrea was very responsive and helpful! Thank you for arranging our car to the airport and for the lovely bottle of wine upon arrival. The apartment was just as pictured on the inside. The neighborhood was conveniently located to what we wanted to see. The entrance was not as nice as the inside of the apartment.

Andrea's place was in the best location imaginable in Rome (Monti neighborhood). Close to everything minus the tourists. The house was clean and larger than the pictures showed. His associate, Barbara, was a great person to give us an introduction to the house and the neighborhood. I'd strongly recommend this location to anyone who wants a real Roman experience

We stayed at Andrea's apartment for 4 nights and loved it. The location is just awesome, the colosseo is 10 min away and you can reach most attractions easily by foot. The subway and also the station Termini is very close. The apartment is nice and cozy and even more spacious than in the pictures. Having two bathrooms is very convenient. We had no problems with noise or the people in the alley. Don't miss breakfast in the lovely cafe diwnstairs :) We'd definitly recommend Andrea's apartment.

We were three friends (male and female) plus the 16 year old daughter of one, so a mixed group. We were able to have 4 separate beds on short notice, and were extremely comfortable in the flat. Claudia met is and could not have been more helpful, friendly and informative, not only about the place, but also about Transportation, sights, restaurants etc, even providing a bus schedule for a trip we planned and a great map of the city. Everything was spotlessly clean and very charming inside. The neighborhood was typically Roman, not touristy, with many cafes and restaurants just steps away and easy waking distance to many important sights.

What a great location in the heart of Rome! An easy 5-10 min walk to the Colosseum. Carlos met us at the apartment and walked us through, went over map, and answered any questions. A true professional! Andrea was available through text/email for all our questions. Hot water was a bit cantankerous, but we managed. I would love to stay here again in Rome. Thanks Andrea for making this part of our trip smooth! We appreciated your quick replies.

Thanks again to Andrea for hosting us and handling our booking very well throughout. Enjoyed our stay at this spacious and very nicely furnished appartment. The location in Monti is a lovely part of Rome and close to great restautrants and shops. However we had some problems with electrical appliances including the fridge not working and very noisy aircondtioner. The entrance to the appartment and alley way leading to the front door are dissapointing unless your into urban grit in a big way!

Fabulous experience. The listing is as described - tidy, bright and cool. And the Colosseum is right around the corner! But it's in a quiet nook, and has so many stores for food and necessities nearby. Andrea was responsive and super helpful with all our accommodations (from booking the unit to reserving a car to the airport). Our local contact, Chiara, was also incredibly helpful - greeting us and giving us recommendations for places in the area. Would love to stay here again the next time I'm in the city. Thank you for the memorable stay!

Andrea's apartment was perfect for our stay in Rome, the neighborhood is cute and with easy access to everything we wanted to see in Rome. We didn't meet Andrea but his friend met us by the apartment to tell us everything we needed to know about the apartment and the area. The only negative part of the experience was the transportation from the airport to the apartment. We asked for recommendation and Andrea told us the train would take 2-3 hours and he recommended for his driver to pick us up instead, it made sense for us since we were four people and the price would be about the same. But if you're a couple or three people coming into FCO I would recommend taking the 32min express train instead (which shouldn't take 2-3hours).

The beautiful old apartment was a great place to stay at for our family af four members(later reduced to 3). It was a great place to relax after a long dag of walking ang sightseeing in Rome. we enjoyed staying in such an old historic home, that also had the convenience of aircon and two bathrooms. Monti is a very charming area in Rome, but Via Pozzuolo was a quiet street a little away from the local life in Via Serpenti with good shops and restaurants as well as fashion shops. Centrally placed with 10 minutes walk to either Colosseum or Plaza Venezia! We were greeted by Martin, who gave us a very thorough information about being a tourist in the city, about the facilities in the apartment. We had very good communication and fast response when asking our host before and during our stay. Staying here when visiting Rome is abselutely recommendable

Nice apartment with great location. Downside . . . the apartment entrance was at the end of a sketchy, dirty alley. One of the bed frames in the second bedroom also collapsed. That being said the apartment is only two blocks from the Colosseum and Forum and the train station is within walking distance. Andrea was a responsive host and arranged transportation for us from the airport. Thanks!

Andrew was a great host, very responsive to our many requests and quick to solve any issue we'd bring to his attention. The apartment is perfectly located, walking distance from most attractions in Rome, and in a lovely area, filled with restaurants and cafés. The apartment itself is somewhat underwhelming, especially the entrance, which is located on a hard-to-get, poorly lit lane, where many young (not-so-recommendable) people young gather at night to drink and be somewhat rowdy. Thankfully, when we called Andrew to share our concern regarding outside noise, he was very responsive and called the authorities to manage the situation - which got mostly resolved. The apartment is air-conditioned, which is essential considering the 35C+ temperature we enjoyed during our stay.

My family and I stayed in Andrea's apartment for two nights. The apartment was clean and plenty big. Andrea had one of his friends Ewa meet us with a bottle of wine. She showed us around and helped us get on the wifi. Our smartphones connected easily, but I never could get my laptop to connect. The location was great. Walking distance to the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, etc. It was very hot when we were there and I was worried about the air conditioning, but it cools the apt well. Overall it was a great experience.

Cool and spacious apartment located in a cul-de-sac away from traffic noise. Good beds and clean bed linen. We recommend Domenico's cafe just around the corner towards Via dei Serpenti for breakfast and more.

The apartment was very nice and clean, lovely and spacious. The location was fantastic however it is a very busy area with many restaurants and bars around the corner so expect your sleep may be disrupted. However I personally think the location outweighed the lack of sleep. Andrea was a great host and even let us stay until late in the evening the day of our checkout for a small fee. This was so great since our flight back to Australia wasn't until 10pm at night. Andrea also organised our transportation back to the airport - this was so helpful. Highly recommend. Thanks Andrea ;)

We chose this property for many reasons. 1) Andrea arranged a drive for 50E from the airport tothe property. This is invaluable - you DO NOT want to derive in Rome. 2) is the location. It was the perfect choice: 10 minutes from the Coliseum, 5 minutes walk from the Metro that took us all over Rome and the restaurants in the area are spectacular. We found better restaurants in the area of our apartment than all of the other places in Rome we visited. Andrea was very attentive and Patricia, who checked us in, was spectacular. We were very well taken care of, communication was perfect, and we have no complaints at all. This is a great AIRBNB.

Andrea arranged our transportation to and from the airport which made the trip so much less stressful. Having someone meet us at the apartment to explain things and give useful information was wonderful. The bottle of wine was an unexpected bonus. Even the towels arranged as swans on the bed makes you feel like you are a welcome guest. The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos - if anything, it was more gorgeous in reality. The location was fabulous! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted. The restaurants in the area are good, gelato can be found nearby, it was easy to catch the Metro and we found groceries close by. We were happy to return to our home away from home at the end of a long but happy day. The air conditioning was an unexpected bonus on the one day we really needed it. The washing machine and drying rack were so very useful as we didn't have to pack as much. Overall, we would recommend this apartment to anyone venturing to Rome. And lastly, being able to leave the keys in the apartment upon departure made life so much easier since we had a very early start to our return trip home.

Even though we never met Andrea, he made our trip to Rome a pleasure. We used a car service based on his referral for transportation to and from the airport. The drivers were on time and very pleasant. The apartment is close to a main street with shopping, restaurants, cafes, the metro, etc but on a side street so that there is no traffic noise. The whole apartment, and particularly the beds, are very comfortable. We were greeted and checked in by Patricia. She explained how everything worked and answered all of our questions about good restaurants, the bus and metro and special sights to see. This was my first time using Airbnb, and I will definitely do it in the future.

I was very happy to stay as Andrea's guest in Rome. The alleyway where the flat is located doesn't look too promising, but inside the place had everything I could hope for. In particular I want to mention the location, which can't get any better. I travel a fair bit and want to avoid all too touristy places and discover something more authentic. Monti became my favourite area in Rome, being full of lively and lovely restaurants and cafes, still relatively undiscovered from mainstream tourism. I could come back to this flat anytime. Special thanks to Andrea who organised everything promptly and could not have been more helpful.

We absolutely loved the apartment and the whole Rome experience. We were picked up from the airport by a friend of Andrea's so we didn't have to navigate ourselves late in the evening. We were met at the apartment by a lovely lady who showed us everything in the apartment and also gave us a brief walking tour of the area so that we knew where the supermarket, metro etc all were. It made everything so easy and we very much appreciated it. The apartment was exactly as described, in fact better. The kitchen was small but well equipped for our needs with plenty of dishes. Our family (2 adults, 3 kids) were visiting Rome for the first time and the location was perfect. It was walking distance to the Colosseum and many other sites. The metro was very close and made it very easy to visit the Vatican too. There were lots of amazing restaurants nearby, so we were very well fed :) A fantastic experience. We loved our stay and will recommend Andrea's place to our friends. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

This place is very spacious and comfortable. Very nice to have 2nd bedroom when traveling as a family. The photos are quite accurate. Andrea and his associate Chiara were responsive and helpful, including arranging airport pickup and helping us learn about the neighborhood.

We had an amazing time in Roma thanks to this beautiful city but also to the flat that is perfectly located and very charming. At our arrival Marco provided us very good tips and places to go! Thanks again! I strongly recommend this flat!

We stayed at this stylish property for 3 nights in March. The host was very helpful and efficient and we had a good welcome. The flat was well equipped and comfortable. It was in an excellent location close to the centre of the city. We would return with pleasure!

Arriving in Rome with lost luggage at the airport, it was so wonderful to be met at the the airport and then at our our apartment without any added issues. Patricia was literally waiting at the the kerbside after a 36 hour flight from Australia with a smile, keys and local tourist recommendations. Our home away from home was perfect ... comfortable and central to everything we wanted to see in Rome. THANK YOU ANDREA!

Andrea and his assistants were SO helpful and accommodating. He even arranged for p/up and transportation to the airport at 430am. The place and neighborhood were exactly what we were looking for. Clean and spacious in the middle of it all- but off a side street so it's quiet enough to get a good night's rest. Would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment! Our driver was on time at the train station and Chiara met us and showed us around the apartment. Location was wonderful. Lots of shops and restaurants right nearby. Also in walking distance to the Colosseum and many, many other sites. Also close to two Metro stops. Comfortable beds. Would definitely stay again!

Consigliatissimo!

Great apartment in great location! It's convenient but doesn't feel touristy. Best croissants (that come with mini jars of jam) and great coffee at La Casetta Della Madonna dei Monti (the small building covered in vines), which is a stone's throw from the apartment. Lots of great restaurants and bars in the area. Make a reservation ahead of time at La Carbonara (in the neighborhood), which is great, but the wait will likely be a couple hours if you don't plan ahead. Andrea is very helpful, organized and responds right away to any questions you may have. He can arrange airport pick up drop / off for you. Andrea wasn't available to meet us, but his associate met us outside the church nearby and showed us to the apartment--very kind and helpful. Bed/blankets are comfortable. Kitchen had olive oil, salt/pepper, pans, utensils, etc. (My husband and I (29) both enjoyed our stay.
