Description

A spacious, comfortable, secure apartment well situated on the last floor of an elegant 19th century building in Via Ottaviano, just a few steps from St. Peter's Cathedral and the Vatican Museum, and, of course, the subway stop 'Ottaviano' which will take you everywhere in the City in a matter of minutes.

Just by crossing the nearest Tiber bridge, then, the most important historical sights of the Eternal City can be reached within a short walk. Search the address on the web and you'll be able to see its excellent location. Of course, since it's in a delightful central neighborhood, it is well connected to public transportation to go everywhere and it is well served by a variety of local cafes, great restaurants, supermarkets, and delicatessens /convenience stores.

There is a welcoming Italian café for breakfast or lunch only a few steps from the building. For those who relish cooking, a large fresh produce market (Via Cola di Rienzo) is only 5 minutes away on foot. The apartment was recently completely renovated. Everything is new and neat, and as you can see from the pictures, it's very modern, with high-quality furnishings. The first floor has two queen size bedrooms with high-quality mattress and air conditioning (one has a fantastic view on St. Peter's Dome), a small living room with TV, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. Amenities include washing machine, coffee/espresso machine, kettle, gas stove with oven, fridge/freezer unit, as well as all the other necessary appliances like iron and ironing board). The second floor reachable with a lovely winding staircase consists of another bedroom with a queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub that can be used as a shower. The apartment has air conditioning, parquet floors in the first floor bedrooms, high Speed Wi-Fi internet connection available 24/7 at no extra cost. The apartment is very quiet and safe at night too. From the kitchen window, you will have the chance to see an authentic 18th century bell tower completely restored with its peculiar bells ringing (but not at night, luckily!) making your stay truly authentic. It is without a doubt the ideal residence for a family or group of six wishing to enjoy either short or long stays.

*** The building has a very small elevator (suitable for only one person with a luggage) and you have to climb one last staircase (10-15 stairs) to get to the very last floor of the building.

We welcome your inquiries and questions will answer right away and still within one business day. We (email hidden) to both the apartment and the neighborhood, with tips and advice for restaurants, bistros, pubs, grocery stores, supermarkets etc.

Smoking is NOT allowed in the apartment.

Baby cot is not included in the price, please contact us for a quote.

Check-in is at 2 pm and check-out is at 10 am.

The apartment was wonderful, perfect location! Nice neighborhood close to lots of amazing restaurants and a quick walk to the Vatican. Andrea was extremely responsive and quickly answered any questions we had.

Andrea is a very kind man. And helps me to find my luggage. The house is good and clean. And the location is very good. Just nearby Vatican. So good.

written by Kathaleen Mercer on Airbnb on Sunday, 22 May 2016

We were a group of 4 adults. The apartment layout was terrific; enough space to gather as a group and a layout that allowed each of us some separate space. The apartment is on the 5th floor, with a very small elevator that stops on the fourth floor, so plan to use the stairs to some degree. We used the kitchen for breakfast every day and sometimes lunch or dinner. The essential equipment is all there, but be prepared to light a gas stove. As Americans, we had to adjust our expectations on the amount of hot water, but with some planning, we had plenty. Loved that there was a washing machine. That made it easier to pack light and spend two weeks on the road. No dryer, but that seems to be the norm for Rome. The location is terrific. Very close to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums as well as a metro stop and the tram. It's a lively neighborhood, with lots of shops and restaurants. Be careful about the over-priced ones that are near St. Peter's and the Museums. There are plenty of good, quality restaurants that are not too expensive. Andreas and his friend Chiara were very helpful. Any question we had was answered completely and quickly. If we make it back to Rome, we would stay here again. Thanks, Andreas!

The property is in a wonderful location. It is well stocked and comfortable. The owner, Andrea, is responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thank you an amazing Italian holiday.

The apartment is very nice and big enough for 6 people with 2 bathrooms. We just had some troubles adjusting the right temperature in the shower. But wasn't a big deal. The apartment is located on the 5th floor and has a small elevator (fits only 1-2 persons without luggage) which goes up until the 4th floor. It is located just one block away from the metro station and about 5' walk to the Vatican. Communication with Andrea was easy, he replied within minutes and was very kind and polite. He organized a pick-up from the airport as we arrived in the late evening. His lovely collegue Claudia welcomed us and gave us useful insider tips regarding sightseeing and restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment.

written by Tony M on Vrbo on Tuesday, 12 April 2016

This apartment is in a great location, close to the subway, Vatican, and a very nice big local market. The apartment is on the top floor of the building but there is a small elevator for your use. I would consider staying there again if I return to Rome. Andrea was very good with booking our transportation to and from the airport and tending to our needs.

written by Francesca C on Vrbo on Friday, 25 March 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Andrea's apartment. Perfect location a quick walk to the Vatican. There were only 4 of us but it could've comfortably accommodated 2 more. Especially with the 2 bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable. Andrea arranged our transfers to/from the airport which was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you Andrea!

Our stay in Rome was wonderful! The apartment was very clean and its location pleasant and handy to just about everything. Andrea is a great host who did everything possible to assist us. I highly recommend Andrea as a host.

I have to say that the apartment was beautiful. Location was 3 minute walk from Vatican and Andrea was a very kind and helpful host. Defenitely where I will always try to stay if I'm ever in Rome again.

Great apartment , great location . Andrea and all his team provided a great service . It was so kind from them to give us a wine bottle and program a van to pick us up in the airport and take us to there coming back. Great experience in Rome.

Host was responsive and prompt to deal with. Andrea's staff was already waiting for us outside the apartment when we arrived and showed us the place. Location was very convenient, very close Metro, Vatican, shops and restaurants. You can walk to most of the attractions. Place was clean and well appointed. The AC in 1 of the bedroom and some outlets were not working. Overall place met our requirements. We had host arranged for transportation from the airport and to Termini Stn on the way to Florence which was a good thing to do.

Andrea's apartment was a delight to stay in. Just as described and in a fabulous area, with cafes and restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep. The front bedroom overlooks a main road but if you use the air con and shut the window, there's no problem with noise. Comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen, plus a bottle of wine to welcome us. (Thank you, Andrea.) Andrea not only arranged our transfer from the airport as we were on a tight schedule, but also let us leave our bags in the apartment so that we could make the most of our final hours in Rome. His lovely friend Giulia showed us around, and Andrea kept in touch by email during our stay, to make sure we were OK. All in all, a brilliant experience and a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

5 of us shared this great apartment for a week and we couldn't have made a better choice. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, it's quiet at night, and accessed through a lovely courtyard that separates you from the crazy bustle of the Vatican crowds. Location couldn't be beat. We experienced a problem with the hot water in the showers, and the host responded immediately, sending a plumber that same day. Excellent hosts, best choice ever. One improvement possible: please supply a toaster and a cutting board for the kitchen.

VERY satisfied with this amazing flat – on top a great location very close to everything you may need, from restaurants to supermarkets, metro station and bus stops, a five minutes’ walk to St. Peter’s square and nevertheless very quiet. A great place to stay in! Even better how Andrea and his staff can manage to organize (rather) everything you may need for a pleasant and stress-free stay, being those things useful information and tips about Rome, or just a reliable pick-up service from and to the airport, including luggage storage and much more. Very professional all the way. And a bottle of wine as welcome on top… We would HIGHLY recommend: A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The space itself was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this airbnb location to anyone staying in Rome.

The apartment was a great size for our family of five, and so convenient to St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum. We very much appreciated Andrea arranging our transportation to and from the airport, as well as providing refreshment for the children on our arrival. His guide to the apartment and recommendations within he neighborhood were also great. We loved the location as so much was walkable or a short metro ride away. I would gladly recommend the apartment to friends and family.

Great place to stay in Rome! Lovely flat in a great location round the corner from the Vatican. Andrea and his team were a great host, very prompt in responding to messages, arranged a car to/from the airport (which was amazing after being 5 hours delayed!) and allowed a very late check-in, which really help to mae our last day. Would definitely recommend! There are a couple of additional costs (e.g. cleaning and and Rome taxes) that are added on after the booking, but nothing unreasonable and clearly stated on the flat's airbnb page.

written by Chiara Reggio on Airbnb on Friday, 16 January 2015

Our experience at Andrea's apartament has been perfect. The location is amazing- 3 minutes walk from San Pietro's square, next door to a metro stop. The neighbourhood is full of shops, both for convenience (grocery etc) and for leisure. In the evening it is very quiet as it is not near any potentially loud spot. The flat itself is cousy and warm. We did not really use the kitchen other than to make coffee and tea in the morning, but it is spacious and fully fitted. Each room is full of light, and the beds and pillows are really comfortable. We spent a nice weekend and all six of us thought it was a really perfect solution for our stay. I would like to add that Andrea has been extremely helpful and went beyond his duty of host. He has been giving us suggestions for restaurants, organizing transfers to and from the airport for all 6 of us, and gave us his complete availability during the weekend, in case we would need any help. It is always a relief to have this in the back of your mind when travelling. I highly reccomand the flat and Andrea! Moreover Roma is an amazing place so overall I would repeat a weekend like this every month if I could!!!

We stayed at this lovely apartment for nearly a week over Christmas. The apartment was perfect for my family. It was my wife and I and our son & daughter. My daughter loved the loft bedroom with her own bathroom and my son's room featured a view of St. Peter's dome. Alessandro met us at the airport (highly recommend booking the van through RomeLikeHome) and brought us right to the apartment where Chiara met us and showed us around. The neighborhood is wonderful with groceries, markets, cafes and restaurants in the surrounding blocks. The Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Square are both a 5 minute walk and the Metro stop less than a minute away. We loved the free WiFi in the apartment. Surprisingly quiet at night and very comfortable beds. The kitchen was compact but well stocked and functional. We even cooked a big Christmas dinner! The Italian espresso maker was the best. We bought some specialty coffee at Castroni right across the street. Andrea was always accessible by phone or text/email and responded almost immediately any time we had a small question. We wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to returning.

We were promptly welcomed at the apartment very graciously and everything necessary to know about the apartment was explained to us. Check-in was most smoothly handled. The location is excellent. Very close to a subway stop and 5 minues to St. Peter's square. Everything about the neighborhood was fine. Restaurants and shopping were nearby and it was a great area to stroll around. Even with the elevator one must climb up one flight to the apt. Some people may need to take that into consideration. The kitchen and bath areas were well stocked and we were grateful for a washing machine in the unit. The apt. was very clean and pleasant and Wi-Fi was excellent. No problems with our stay. Andrea was also willing to work with us to arrange some private transportation. This was greatly appreciated.

This is a beautiful and spacious apartment. I had to work on my vacation so it was very comforting to wake up (early), sit in the quiet and charming kitchen, and catch up on work before we head out for a day of sightseeing. The wifi worked very well! There was a heat spell going on in Rome while we were in town and the availability of AC made all the difference. On the day of our departure, we had an early morning flight. Andrea was very helpful and assisted us in arranging a pickup to the airport. Overall, our stay in Rome was wonderful and the apartment was very clean, beautiful, and it made us feel at home. Highly recommend this apartment to all travelers.

Stunning and perfectly clean apartment with a view of the St. Peter's Dome from one of the bedrooms, this place was perfect as it was also close to proper italian restaurants, the metro which takes you everywhere and also the Vatican sites at the end of the road. We were greeted by Andrea's friend who was lovely and extremely helpful and there was even an information book to help with everything you can think of. We loved this stunning apartment and everything it offers, definitely will be recommend this to everyone! :))
